Be Blessed Verse
Our verse for the week is Psalm 91:1-2
V1 Whoever goes to the LORD for safety, whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty, V2 can say to him, “You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in You I trust.”
Psalm 91 is one of the most comforting and reassuring passages in the Bible. Its words paint a picture of safety, refuge, and protection from evil that can bring peace and comfort to those who read it.
The promises found in Psalm 91 are meant to be a source of hope during difficult times and remind us that God is our strong protector.
Our Unique 4-Step Process for Choosing Paint Colors & Materials That Pair Perfectly
Color plays an essential role in a home, as it helps to define its character and establish a certain mood. It's important to choose both paint colors and materials/finishes simultaneously so that they complement one another and create harmony.
If they are not selected together, the risk is that the end result won't come together as planned and will appear disjointed, possibly ugly, or incomplete. Let’s look at 4 steps to avoid this.
Step #1: Settle on a Mood for the Space
When deciding on the mood of a space, it's important to first consider how you want to feel when you walk in. Do you want to feel relaxed and comfortable, light and airy, glamorous and luxurious?
When you are working with us for color consultation, we will be using you as the guide for your colors. So, it is more than just picking random colors, it is important to establish your personal color preferences and scheme.
Once that has been established, seek out color palettes that will match this feeling.
For instance, if your coloring is soft pastels you might want to create a soft and cozy atmosphere.
Or perhaps your coloring is deeper hues which can help achieve a moody vibe.
Or, then again, you may be a luxurious person who wants glitz and glam.
It is all great, but most important is that it is a reflection of you and what you love!!!
Finally, finish off the look with complementary materials or finishes that reflect the overall desired aesthetic.
Step #2: Find Images for Visual Inspiration
When looking for inspiration, start by collecting a range of images that evoke the desired feeling. Using design-focused websites like Pinterest or magazines can be a great place to begin.
Once the selection is gathered, look closely and pinpoint the exact elements that you like most in each picture, such as the colors you love, what materials are beautiful to you, and what shapes you like.
This will help you create your own unique style that perfectly reflects your desired aesthetic.
Step #3: Determine Each Detail at the Start
Creating a mood board of the desired aesthetic is a great place to start when planning for a home project. Mood boards are usually done per room and really give a visual idea of what is going on in the room and how it all goes together.
Assemble material samples, swatches, and even sketches that all work together to reflect your vision.
If needed, consult with an interior designer or stylist for help in putting together the perfect collection to reference throughout the entire process.
Doing this will help you stay on track as you bring your dreams to life.
Step #4: Edit, Assess, Finalize...Then Implement
When it comes to editing and finalizing the design, it is important to find the details that make all of the elements feel cohesive.
Check for consistency in things like paint colors, hardware finishes, or fabric swatches.
Don’t be afraid to go back and swap out pieces until you feel like you have the perfect look.
As the designer of your room, this is also the time to confirm your vision and get feedback from others who live with you before making any big purchases.
Creating a color palette can make a huge difference in the final look and feel of your design. Not only will it give you an organized set of colors to work with, but it also allows you to test out different combinations that can help bring your vision to life.
A color palette is also a great way to coordinate all the elements in your design and create an overall unified style.
When it comes to selecting paint colors and design materials, always keep the mood in mind.
Choose a color palette that reflects the atmosphere you are trying to create and the rest of the elements should start to come together in harmony.
If you are still unsure, it is always a great idea to get a professional color consultant or designer, just to be sure. This will cost way less than those costly mistakes I have seen made and that you can make too.
