Motorized window coverings are cool. They are not inexpensive, but if you have the budget for them, they are well worth the expense.
Smart home technology has created ways to automatically close window coverings at a certain time at night and automatically raise them when you want in the am. They come in blackout or semi-opaque and pretty much, you can set them up any way you want. Did you know there is an inexpensive way to have motorized window coverings in your home? Awe, motorized window coverings! I am in love with them for ease, functionality, time savings, beauty, and convenience.
When the sun is pounding on one side of the house, motorized shades make the rooms soooo comfortable. With the push of a button, problem solved, or even better yet…if you have these window treatments on a timer, that is the ultimate convenience.
Several of my clients, through the years, prefer blackout in their bedroom. They sleep better. The window coverings are automatically closed in the evening at the time they like and they open automatically in the morning, again at the time they select. This has worked for many and they use this instead of an alarm. It can and does work.
I and several of my clients are in love with these convenient, modern treatments.
5 Important Benefits of Motorized Shades For Your Home
1. They Increase Energy Efficiency
One of the huge benefits of window coverings that most people do not consider is energy efficiency. Whether your window coverings are motorized or not, one of the most important uses of window coverings is energy efficiency. The ultimate is motorized window coverings. They are very energy-efficient through a programmable timer that ensures insulation at the right times of day and night.
They can help keep the heat in and the cold out in the winter AND the air conditioning in and the heat out in the summer. This can definitely have a positive effect on your energy bills, not to mention your and your family's comfort levels.
2. They Save Money in Long-Term
The sun can wreak havoc on furniture, flooring, area rugs, and even window fabrics (lining them can help this). But with motorized window treatments, you can avoid this harsh reality.
The long-term benefits are numerous. They range from increased energy efficiency to not needing to replace faded flooring or furniture (since shades can be programmed to be lowered during the most damaging times of the day or when you are not at home).
Also, it is an inconvenience to attempt to open and close the window coverings in hard-to-reach places. Many windows are so high that it is virtually impossible
3. They are Always Child-Safe
One of the inherent hazards of many window coverings are the cords used to control them. These can be real child safety issues. Sadly, many children have been victims of these window-covering accidents.
Motorized window treatments lack cords of any kind and therefore are very safe. They are perfect for homes with children or frequently visiting grandchildren.
4. They Give You Room to Grow
Motorized window treatments are great for a forever home. As a person's mobility decreases over time, motorized treatments allow continued ease for many years to come.
5. They Come in a Wide Range of Options
There are several choices of types of motorized window treatments. They can be hard-wired to your electricity or, many people do not realize, they can even be battery operated. You can have a mix of both hard-wired and battery-operated if you prefer. They are manufactured to address several materials, budgets, and qualities.
