Industrial Furniture Style: Sophistication Meets Rustic
Faith Led Interior Design Show | Episode 13
Do you want to know what your Interior Design Furniture Style is?
Today’s episode is the eighth of a 12-part Interior Design Furniture Styles Series called, “What Is My Furniture Style?”. The furniture style I will talk about is the Industrial Furniture Style.
Classic industrial style strives to bring the look of an industrial building into a home with high ceilings, exposed brick and beams, and metal accents. Perfectly suited to spaces like converted factories and rustic lofts, this style is all about creating a streamlined sophisticated design with mixed materials.
So if you are attracted to a furniture style that contrasts modernity and sophistication with rustic elements from the past, this episode is for you.

Industrial Furniture Style: Sophistication Meets Rustic
I have been doing a series of episodes introducing the 12 major furniture styles on the market today. I call the series “What Is My Furniture Style?”. Most of them are not trends but rather shapes, textures, and lines that you like. You choose one, two, or three (at most) of the styles for your home, which you can blend together. This blend of styles creates a whole new style called an Eclectic Style. The eclectic style is a blend of 2 or more styles. So, if someone asks you what your favorite furniture style is, just say “eclectic”. That covers everything. And then hope that they don’t ask you to get more specific, like oh, “which styles do you like together?” By the end of this style series, I am hoping you will know your answer.
Once you choose the styles you love, this tells you which ones to shop for and eliminates all the rest. It eliminates all of the other thousands of furniture choices.
The goal is to establish your favorite style or styles - establish just what you love, and make interior furnishings shopping much easier.
Origins of the Industrial Furniture Design Style
The Industrial Furniture Style originates from a warehouse, loft or factory feel. Having an open, organized, and functional living and workspace is important for the people with this style. A well-designed Industrial Furniture Style usually has exposed architectural elements like brick, beams, or even ducting.
