Is Glam Dramatic Furniture Style The Right Home Style For You?
I want to start with a verse that has been blessing me for the last several months. I keep reading it over and over…
I am hoping it will bless you too before we talk about the Glam Dramatic Furniture Style, its origins, the personality style of a person who loves the Glam Dramatic style, and its styling ideas.
Be Blessed Verse:
“Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let your joy overflow! And let gentleness be seen in every relationship, for our Lord is ever near.”
Don’t be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing. Be saturated in prayer throughout each day, offering your faith-filled requests before God with overflowing gratitude. Tell Him every detail of your life, then God’s wonderful peace that transcends human understanding will guard your heart and mind through Jesus Christ.”
“Keep your thoughts continually fixed on all that is authentic and real, honorable and admirable, beautiful and respectful, pure and holy, merciful and kind.
And fasten your thought on every glorious work of God, praising Him always.
Put into practice the example of all that you have heard from Me or seen in My life, and the God of peace will be with you in all things.

Origins of the Glam Dramatic Furniture Style
It all started back In the 1920s when we start to see the Art Deco Furniture Style, with its geometric details.
TVs are just becoming a thing and this gave way in the 1930s to the more fluid style called Art Nouveau. Although this style originated in the late 1800s in Europe and the United States, the Glam Dramatic Furniture style we have today was in full bloom in the late 1930s and the early 1940s.
By World War II, the end of the 1930s, the styles started becoming more simplified, glamorous, and modern.
Hollywood started being the glamour center. This style was sometimes called Hollywood Regency Style or Hollywood Glam. This era was considered by many as the “Golden Age” of Hollywood.
We see beautifully carved wood, curved armchairs, and sofas.
The symbols used as ornaments were free-flowing natural forms of flowers, leaves, dragonfly wings, and the like.
The fabrics of this era were beautiful velvets, silks, damasks and even fur was used.
Looking at some of the old Hollywood pictures we see silk damasks, very elegant rich patterns, most probably coming from France. These fabrics looked beautiful on fine quality settees and very comfy occasional chairs.
Today, the Glam Dramatic Style catches glimpses of the Hollywood Glamor era. It is an interior design style that can be ornate or understated with extravagant furnishings and materials.
The key to this style is a Glamorous over-the-top mix of contrast, patterns, and bling, which creates dramatic interiors.
The Glam Dramatic style is a beautiful balance between ornate and simplicity, opulence and function.

Designer Pro Tip
This Glam Dramatic style is not for the faint of heart or shy.
This person makes a bold statement. It can be done in a modern simple way or it can be quite ornate.
The person who likes this Glam Dramatic Style may also be interested in fashion. A fun note is that the furniture styles all originated in Europe.
The American furniture trends of today originated in France mostly through the fashion industry. The fashion industry sets the trends to come. These trends originate in France and then come to the East Coast and then they find their way across the country to the west coast. By the time they make it to the west coast, they have usually been around for at least a couple of years or possibly more.
I have yet to go to a Paris Furniture Market, but it is on my bucket list for sure…
What Is Your Design Personality Style?

It is important to determine both your Design Personality Style and your Furniture Style.
The personality quiz is designed to work along with your furniture style. It is important to establish your interior design personality style first because it helps to determine your interior design furniture style.
Once you determine both your Interior Design Personality and your Furniture Style, it makes shopping so much easier and less stressful. The reason is that you now shop only for your personality and furniture styles. It eliminates all the other personality types and furniture styles that really are not yours.
Determine your personality style and furniture style or styles first and then continue with your interior design plan.
