Be Blessed Verse

Our verse for the week is Philippians 4:4-7 (TPT)

Be cheerful with joyous celebration in every season of life. Let your joy overflow! And let gentleness be seen in every relationship, for our Lord is ever near. Don't be pulled in different directions or worried about a thing.

The holidays are a wonderful time to spend with friends and family. But of course, no one wants to scurry around with last-minute preparations. Instead, we want to be calm, cool, and collected to spend quality time with our loved ones. That’s the goal, at least!

I am going for peace and pure enjoyment this holiday season, so that means I need to get organized! By prioritizing organization, you get the details out of the way so that you can enjoy the holidays with friends and family to the fullest.

5 Easy Organization Tips for an Enjoyable Holiday Season

1. Clean the Fridge

Most people don't clean out their fridges very often, which means old condiments and past-due containers may be hiding in plain sight. Ok, time to clear the way for a feast!

Out with the old dated items and in with the new. I like to make a lovely vegetable soup to make space for fresh veggies. Who doesn't love curling up with a nice bowl of soup this time of year? With a slice of toasted french bread, yummy! I'm making myself hungry. Oh yeah, I was talking about clearing things out...

2. Pull Out Stored Dishes and Linens

I am pulling out my dishes, chargers, candlesticks, cloth napkins, and anything else I can think of in advance. Then I decide what I want to use this year, what I have, and what else I need.

I will also have time to clean everything. In addition, I put food items out, and I even like to prepare what I can a little in advance, again so that I am not scrambling at the last minute.

3. Set the Table Early

I just checked with Siri, and she said we will have warm weather this holiday season. So I’m planning on taking advantage of the nice weather and setting up tables outside to have an outdoor holiday celebration, weather permitting of course.

So, I will get all the table decorations out and ready to decorate in the early morning. I usually do this the night before if I am entertaining indoors, which helps take some pressure off.

4. Set Up a Self-Serve Area

Another thing that is easy to prepare in advance is a drink and snack station. Guests can serve themselves while the chefs are working hard in the kitchen. Better yet, locate the station where the chefs can be a part of the conversation too.

5. Create a Warm Atmosphere

Some of my favorite ways to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere are…

  • Have plenty of games to keep the kiddos busy and entertained.

  • Turn on the music in the background.

  • Have candles burning everywhere.

I am excited about the wonderful aromas, great tastes, sounds, and excitement this holiday season.

I wish you and your family the most memorable, love-filled, non-stressed, laughter-filled, and enjoyable, holidays ever, and of course, Bon Appetite!
